H2 Catalyst: The record-breaking catalyst stuffs electrons - the backbone of electricity, seen here as yellow balls or yellow halos - into chemical bonds between hydrogen atoms (H) stolen from water. It uses inexpensive nickel (Ni) to do so, instead of the more common and expensive platinum. For more information, visit www.pnnl.gov/news
What is the study?
The Chehalis-Centralia Airport is studying the feasibility of a multi-modal hydrogen facility in the NE corner of airport property, just west of Home Depot. The study is examining the market demand, potential infrastructure, access road design, and completing necessary environmental studies.
How is the study funded?
The study is funded through a Build America Bureau Innovative Finance and Asset Concession Grant. The grant was accepted by City Council with no match required.
How can I participate?
CLS will host two public open houses for the hydrogen study. The first public open house will be held September 29th. The location and time of the meeting are TBD.
